Wind Tunnel System for Drones
Description
The Aero Optim has an airflow area can be set in 70cm increments, allowing it to be used for testing drones of various sizes, including 30cm to over 3m-class drones. With a larger flow area, free-flight tests can be conducted safely without tethers as imaged. The wind tunnel is portable, so testing can be conducted outdoors or semi-outdoors while receiving adequate GPS reception. Thus the drone can fly autonomously and its wind resistance during its autonomous phase can be evaluated, which has been difficult to achieve in the past. In addition, the small-diameter, high-response fan can be used to reproduce gusts, pulsating winds, and turbulence to an extent as a custom feature.
