Joshua Lawn was born, in 1994, in Nagasaki Japan, and grew up in Nagasaki.
He started research on wind turbines at Nagasaki University a government grant when he was in senior high school. After entering Kyushu University, he secured a research budget and started his research on wind turbines and wind tunnel testing technology at the Research Institute for Applied Mechanics from the first year in university. After achieving the development of the world's largest and fastest wind direction fluctuation wind tunnel, using this technology, he developed a number of new wind generation techniques including Tandem Rotor Wind Turbine that became the world`s first commercially available double rotor wind turbine. He and his research team received 8 awards within Japan and 2 awards overseas in competitions (4 of them were top awards). He founded Japan Wind Tunnel Manufacturing Inc. before graduating from Kyushu University. Now he is the President of Japan Wind Tunnel Manufacturing Inc.
